JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for:
  • spreading, leveling, smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete
  • inspecting completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations
  • cleaning, maintaining, adjusting, calibrating and servicing equipment used in the performance of duties
  • maintaining appropriate service and repair records
Requirements
Ability to:
  • use appropriate hand and power tools to place concrete into finished forms to specified textures
  • vibrate, level, smooth and shape surface of concrete
  • finish concrete surfaces to specifications
  • remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer
  • patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
  • install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications
  • mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and strait edge
  • signal truck/pump truck driver to facilitate pouring concrete
  • move chute as needed over concrete forms and/or rebar
  • apply hardening and sealing compound to cure surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface
  • read and comprehend plans and blueprints
  • perform physical labor
  • follow and give oral and written instructions
  • maintain cooperative working relationships
  • demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population
Knowledge of:
  • thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete finishing in both residential and commercial/industrial settings
  • applicable building and safety code requirements
  • methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • high school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • 5 years of experience working as a concrete finisher in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
  • must possess a valid Wyoming driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • any additional training or certification is a plus
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical activities:
  • lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)
  • bending, standing, climbing, and walking
Able to safely use:
  • manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades
Must be able to handle:
  • hazardous materials safely
  • tolerate exposure to electrical hazards
  • tolerate environmental hazards such as molds and various solvents
